How to Finance Your Tuition

CenterPoint will help you find the resources to make your career dreams come true!

It is best to begin this process early to have your finance plan in place prior to the start of school.

  1. Attend a CenterPoint Finance Info Session that is scheduled weekly. Your Admissions Representative will give you the scheduled times.
  2. Confirm that your application to CenterPoint is complete and you have been accepted.
  3. Complete the Financial Aid forms on-line. You may complete all or part of this process at CenterPoint with assistance from our Financial Aid staff. CenterPoint’s School Code is: 041488

For Federal Financial Aid, complete the following:
For Minnesota State SELF Loan, complete the following:
  • Complete the FAFSA online (see above): www.studentloans.gov.
  • Complete the On-line SELF Loan Application: www.selfloan.org
  • Confirm the co-borrower completes their portion of the application

For Sallie Mae Private Loan, complete the following:
  • Complete the On-line Sallie Mae Loan Application: www.salliemae.com
  • Select CenterPoint in “School Attending”
  • Sallie may will inform you if a co-borrower is required
  • Make an appointment with CenterPoint’s Registrar to complete your finance plan and payment agreement.
For VA Education Benefits, complete the following:
  • Go to: www.GiBill.gov
  • Complete Form 22-1990
  • Or: visit your nearest Regional Office to apply in person
  • Call 1-888-GI Bill (1-888-442-4551) to have the application mailed to you

To Self-Finance your Tuition:
  • Attend the finance planning info session
  • Make an appointment with CenterPoint’s Registrar to complete your finance plan and payment agreement.
  • Make your first payment and all payments on-time

Next Step for Federal Financial Aid Applicants:

Make an appointment with CenterPoint’s Registrar to complete your finance plan. Please bring with you the following documents:

  • Confirmation page for FAFSA
  • Printed documentation of the signed MPN (Master Promissory Note)
  • Proof of on-line Entrance Counseling
  • Income Tax transcript, if requested

Students who are participating in the Federal loan programs are to attend CenterPoint’s Entrance Counseling session. This Entrance Counseling session is required and scheduled on the same evening as New Student Orientation. Please ask your Admissions Representative for information.

Next Step for MN SELF Loan Applicants:

Make an appointment with CenterPoint’s Registrar to complete your finance plan. Please confirm the following:

  • Your SELF Loan Application is complete
  • Your co-borrower has completed and electronically signed the application

Students who are participating in the Federal loan programs are to attend CenterPoint’s Entrance Counseling session. This Entrance Counseling session is required and scheduled on the same evening as New Student Orientation. Please ask your Admissions Representative for information.

All students are to complete their finance plans, financial aid applications, obtain official approvals, and sign their CenterPoint Payment Agreement prior to the start of school. It is best to complete the finance process early. Students who do not have all funding in place by the end of the second week of the term may be withheld from attending class. The attendance policy will still apply.

The $100 tuition deposit is paid at the time of the Admissions Interview (prior to your meeting with the Registrar), and the balance of the tuition is financed. The $100 tuition deposit is held in the student’s account and credited to tuition during the student’s final term.

Students who are making regular payments must submit their payments on time. A late fee of $50.00 will be charged for tuition payments more than 10 days late.
