Bodywork Continuing Ed News: New Classes This Winter!

15 Dec 2017

At our Minneapolis massage school, we endeavor to do all we can to support our students and grads as well as other bodywork professionals in their chosen career field. As a part of that effort, we regularly reassess our continuing education schedule and add new classes.

This winter, in addition to the regular favorites, here are new classes you can choose from, whether you’re looking to finish off your hourly requirement or just want to add a new skill:

  • Auricular Therapy for Massage Therapists (January 21) – This therapy is usually offered by acupuncturists and shiatsu therapists, but we’ve tailored this workshop specifically for massage therapists. Auricular therapy works on a principle similar to reflexology, except that this technique stimulates the body via points in the outer ear. It’s a terrific addition to a massage therapy session since it allows the client to continue healing support at home. The class is open to both current students as well as grads of a therapeutic massage program.
  • Eating Seasonally and Locally – How and Why? (February 10) – Open to all! Wellness starts with a healthy diet, and eating locally is an important component. Join us for a day of discussing mindful, seasonal eating and how to connect with local food sources. Plus you’ll get some great recipes!
  • Connective Tissue Therapy – Neck & Shoulders (March 11) – open to massage training program grads and also students who have already completed advanced therapeutic massage. This therapy focuses on the connective tissues – fascia, ligaments, and tendons – in the neck and shoulder area. It’s great for relief of tension as well as aiding in proper posture and injury prevention.

Come join us this winter for one of our new continuing ed classes or an old favorite – we look forward to seeing you!
